Need A Plan

On January 1st, most Americans set out to conquer their weight loss and fitness goals every single year. Many are really great goals, but how we reach them is even more important.

Without a realistic plan of action, our goals will soon perish or feel like we will never were able to achieve them.

But, on the flip side when you have an effective fitness plan, you can conquer almost any goal, every single time.

So, the question is:

And, if you answered no, I don't know, I think so, pretty sure, or maybe.

That is your clue to get a pen and notepad and take some notes today.

You see, in order to lose weight, gain muscle, or reach any health or fitness goal, you must have a visual strategy in place. If you think you can guess at how many calories, carbs, fat, protein, macros, and portion sizes you think you are intaking, we still may be off on reaching our goals. Simply because, not only do our goals have to be realistic, but they have to be measured, monitored and readjusted from time to time.

What do we do, when we don't know where to start?

#1-Create an exercise schedule, set a daily time that fits into your routine, when you have the most energy preferably and be consistent. I like to also measure my progress and my clients by using different apps for accountability, so if you forgot what you did, you can always check back on the app. I recommend using Map my walk because it logs your walks and also your workouts. You can have friends on there for accountability and view each others routine as well.

#2-Start writing a food log. Measure everything you put into your mouth and write it down for 1 week, (what you normally eat) and you will see how many calories, fat, protein, and carbs you are consuming daily. I recommend using MyFitnessPal because it will calculate all the macros for you. After a week you can then set the calories, carbs, fat, and protein to a new goal, for instance lowering the coaloric intake to 1200-1500 calories per day for an example, or just shaving off 50 calories a week, and by changing the macro goals set.
