FOOD LOGGING MAKES ME CRAZY!!

Have you ever written your daily food in a log and were surprised at what you actually ate? or how many calories or macro nutrients you thought you ate more/less of?

Or maybe you thought "this is a waste of my time, I eat healthy for the most part, what's the point"?!

Food logging is one of the key components to successful weightloss, lean muscle mass or weight gain.

So whatever the goal may be, food logging allows you to see the big picture of what changes need to be made in your daily nutritional program.

Food logging shows you how many calories you are consuming, it shows you how many macronutrients you are eating, like fats, carbohydrates, and protein.

Did you know that to reach your health/fitness goals, you are 80% of nutrition and 20 % of how you exercise?

With that being said, it is vital to be consistent when it comes to logging our food, so we can stay on track and live our healthiest life.

Not only that but, if you are eating too much of something, such as sugar for an example and maybe you have arthritis, it is known to cause more inflammation and stiffness in the body, or lets say you eat a steak every night for dinner, while it is a high protein food, it also is high in saturated fat which consumed every night is not beneficial for the heart.

So, to sum this up, following the food log, allows you to see that all things in moderation will help keep your numbers in what I like to call a "safe healthy zone".

I have had numerous clients, including myself that have had great weightloss/gain success due to seeing what their plate looks like in calories, and macros, made some changes, and looked and felt so much better, after putting the right ingredients into their bodies.

The key is to log everyday because everyday is not a perfect food day, and some times through out the day, may be more challenging than others for example night-time eaters, or grazers, are challenged with cravings or snacking.

But, when we begin to measure what we are putting in our bodies, then we can find healthier replacements and less processed products to put into our bodies.

Then we will begin to have more energy, with less pain, and be able to be at our healthiest!

My wish for you is that you will find this as a helpful tool in your daily nutrition program as well!

Blessings,

Lisa Baj
